Five organisations to support this Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia Day is here, and while you’re out there doing your bit for the planet, why not let your empties join the clean-up crew too?

Your 10-cent containers might seem small, but when donated, they can help power some seriously mighty environmental organisations across Queensland.

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on a few incredible causes that are rolling up their sleeves (year-round!) to keep our beaches, bushland and waterways sparkling.

1. Clean Up Australia

The organisation behind Clean Up Australia Day, Clean Up Australia has been mobilising communities for over 30 years to prevent and remove litter nationwide.

Each year, they empower volunteers across the country to take practical environmental action and create lasting change in their local areas.

5. Keep Queensland Beautiful

Inspiring Queenslanders since 1968, Keep Queensland Beautiful is a volunteer-driven charity focused on litter prevention and community action.

Small change. Big difference.

These organisations show what’s possible when communities come together - restoring coastlines, protecting wildlife and removing millions of kilograms of waste from our environment.

The best part? Every one of these organisations accepts 10-cent container refund donations through Containers for Change.

That means your eligible bottles and cans can go straight from your recycling bag to supporting real, hands-on environmental action across Queensland. You can get involved by volunteering at a local clean-up - or simply donate your refund and let your containers do the heavy lifting.

However you choose to chip in, it all adds up to cleaner beaches, healthier waterways and stronger communities.

This Clean Up Australia Day, don’t just clean up - power the clean-up.
