Top Tips for Stress-Free Returns This Festive Season
It’s summer! It's the festive season! There's Bincoin galore! But with more celebrations (and more containers) comes a much busier period at return points right across Queensland.
December is one of our peak months (for reasons we’re sure you can guess) so we’ve put together a helpful guide to make your holiday returns as smooth as possible.
1. Return early in the month
Our busiest days of the year often fall in mid-to-late December.
By planning your returns earlier in the month, you can avoid queues, reduce wait times, and glide into the holiday period feeling organised. Your future self will thank you!
2. Check your local return point’s opening hours
Many return points extend their opening hours in the lead-up to Christmas and close on public holidays.
Taking a moment to check before you head out can help you avoid delays, confusion and any cranky car-park moments.

3. Sort and prep like a pro
A little preparation at home can make a big difference once you arrive. Here’s what helps keep things moving quickly:
- Keep your containers clean and empty
- Check whether lids are accepted in your area.
- Separate glass from other containers where possible
- Use bags or boxes to keep your load organised
Well-prepared containers mean faster returns, and more time to enjoy your holidays!
4. Skip the queue with a Bag Drop
Bag Drops are one of the fastest and easiest ways to return containers, especially if you have a large collection (and want to avoid queues!).
Simply drop your bags, continue with your festive errands, and your refund will land in your account once your containers have been processed.
How Bag Drops work
Find your nearest Bag Drop (Tip: use the ‘bag drop’ filter when searching)
5. Keep returning, even during the holidays
Backyard BBQs, beach days, road trips, camping, family gatherings… wherever Queenslanders celebrate, eligible containers tend to follow.
Staying in your return routine during the holidays helps you stay on top of your collections and start the new year with fresh Bincoin ready to save (or spend!).
6. Be kind to your operators
The festive season is not only the busiest time of year, but also one of the hottest. Our operators work incredibly hard to keep everything running smoothly, manage increased volumes and help process everyone’s returns quickly and safely.
Bring a little festive spirit with you: a smile, a thank you, or a moment of patience can make a world of difference for the people working behind the scenes.
Make holiday returns a breeze
By returning a little earlier and coming prepared, you can help things run smoothly for everyone during the busiest time of year.
Thank you for doing your part to keep Queensland clean, green, and full of Bincoin this summer.
