What containers are accepted for a 10¢ refund?

From plastic and glass bottles, to cans and lids, find out what is (and isn't!) accepted at your local refund point.

What's accepted?

Most drink containers between 150ml and 3L are accepted for return. Here's the full list:

Plastic Bottles

Water, soft drinks, juice, flavoured milk, and sports drinks.

Glass Bottles

Water, beer, pre-mixed spirits, and soft drinks.

Drink Cans

Soft drinks, carbonated beverages, energy drinks, beers, and pre-mixed spirits.

Drink Cartons

Flavoured milk cartons, juice cartons, juice boxes, and water cartons.

Wine & Spirit Bottles

Wine and spirits in plastic and glass bottles.

Juice & Cordial Bottles

All fruit and vegetable juice, and cordial containers.

Pouches, Casks, Lids & Corks

We also accept a range of juice pouches, water casks, and wine in sachets or casks. You can bring your separated corks and lids with you to the refund point, as these can be recycled too.

Newly accepted containers may not show the 10¢ mark yet, but they're still accepted at our refund points. Use our container barcode checker above, or scan the container's barcode in the Containers for Change WA app.

❌ What's not accepted?

Plain milk and registered health tonic containers are not accepted at our refund points. This includes alternative milk and Yakult containers. Please follow WasteSorted's disposal guidelines for these containers.
